Sugarplum Tree
If you have grown weary of glitzy dime store garlands, then these next ideas will seem like a breath of Christmas Past.

Sweet Treasure Chain
Tie Imperial Sugar or Dixie Crystals Sugar Cubes up with slender ribbons to resemble miniature packages. Now, tie each "package" onto one very long (the desired length of the garland) piece of ribbon. This way, the "packages" will slide easily along the ribbon adjusting themselves to the perfect position on your tree.

Golden Popcorn Chain
Dress up a simple popcorn garland by using metallic thread and creating a pattern with alternating sets of popcorn and golden beads. We popped our corn in our microwave with no fat and no salt to keep our popcorn garland looking great throughout the entire holiday season.

Candyland Garland
Using a hot glue gun, we attached cellophane twisted candies together by overlapping their twisted ends. Then, we tied small pieces of ribbon to every other candy for a festive touch that was not too over-powering.

Memories & Stories

Imperial Sugar Company,
My first memory of cooking was when I was about 11. My mom worked and I was an only child so I spent most of my days entertaining myself. Mom worked for a really sweet elderly couple, Mom and Pop Langer. I loved them. I started cooking brownies, cakes and cookies for them. Whatever I cooked, Pop Langer always made a big fuss over how good it was. He made me feel so good. I followed Mom’s recipes to the letter and I still do that today. I can’t cook without a recipe. My three granddaughters love to help me with the cooking and I know they would love to have their own cookbook.

Sincerely,
Sharon Gates
