This is a cooking memory of mine from the early 50’s, cooking with my grandmother: Thumbing through Grandma’s old cookbooks, now worn and well cherished, I recall fond memories of my time spent learning to cook. Reviewing those splattered and well-marked recipes, I can envision a timeline linking me to those “ordinary days” when I stood on a chair helping measure, sift or stir such goodies as her famous “Coffee Ring.” Touching those familiar pages helps me make those connections to a wonderful place and time in my heart.
