Christmas Traditions

Some Christmas traditions start out the day after Thanksgiving, with the start of holiday shopping. Stores across the country will open as early as 5:00am with special sales to entice holiday shoppers.

In addition, Thanksgiving weekend is typically the start of decorating your house for Christmas, with Christmas trees being bought and decorated, lights being put up on roof-tops and Christmas music being played 24/7 on radio stations throughout the country.

The Christmas season brings out the baker in all of us, as we try to make the perfect Christmas cookies or fudge or even make a Ginger Bread House.

Traditional Christmas breakfast consists of cinnamon rolls or coffee cake and dinner is turkey or ham, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans and pumpkin pie.

No matter what traditions you have, everyone can agree that Christmas is about being with family and friends.

Memories & Stories

Imperial Sugar Company,
My daughter first learned to cook using her copy of “My First Cookbook.” She was 11 and she wanted to make cookies and candy. She has her cookbook displayed on a holder and covered in plastic wrap to protect it.

We used the Heavenly Hot Fudge Sauce recipe many times - even now I make it and give it as gifts at Christmas. Thanks for the memories of growing up with Imperial Sugar.
