Memories & Stories

Imperial Sugar Company,
My own first memory of learning to cook is based on the experience of cooking with my grandfather who was a railroad chef. Every Sunday morning we would get up and make breakfast for the rest of the family. Our specialty was pancakes. The two of us would have our meal together. Eventually, the rest of the family would get up and have their meal. I have continued that family tradition with my own grandchildren. They each have a role in measuring, mixing and baking the “cakes” based on their age. We then have the meal together and eventually, the rest of the family comes to have their meal.

Sincerely,
Robert R. Taylor
