Marbled White Chocolate Bark
Marbled White Chocolate Bark

Making candy this beautiful is a lot easier than it looks. Being able to color white chocolate comes in very handy when making a bark that not only looks great, but also tastes great too. You can tint the chocolate to match your party theme or holiday. This technique also works great when making cake pops.

This job is great for kids because you need to work quickly. Having all hands on deck ensures that you will get your swirls in before the chocolate hardens.

Before you begin to melt the chocolate, add a few drops of color to the bottom of a small bowl and have a spoon or rubber spatula nearby. Divide the chocolate among the bowls and let the kids stir until the color has been evenly distributed. It’s magical watching a teeny tiny bit of food coloring being swirled into a bowl of white chocolate and turning it into a vivid color.

  1. Add a few drops of candy color to the bottom to each bowl to be colored. Line a rimmed baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Line a baking sheet with a silicon mat or parchment. Set aside.
  3. Bring a saucepan of water to a rolling boil and turn off the heat. Place white chocolate and sugar in a stainless steel bowl and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  4. Pour half of the chocolate onto the baking sheet. Spread out into a rectangular shape.
  5. Divide remaining chocolate into prepared bowls. Mix until colors have been evenly distributed. Drop colored chocolate over the white chocolate base. Use a toothpick or knife to swirl the colors into the desired marble pattern.
  6. Let harden at room temperature until the chocolate is solid. Break into pieces, or cut into squares with a sharp knife.

  • You must use candy color or gel food coloring and not liquid food coloring. Liquid will cause the chocolate to seize and you will not be able to bring it back. Candy and gel colors can be found in your local craft store or online.
