It really doesn't get much easier than this! Pre-packaged angel food cakes filled with whipped cream, almond extract, cherries and chocolate shavings.

Black Forest Cherry Cups

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup Dixie Crystals Confectioners Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 packages angel food dessert shells
  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 square (1 oz) semi sweet chocolate, grated


  1. Beat the cream, sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl until stiff.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the cherry pie filling with the almond extract.
  3. Topp each individual dessert shell with 1/4 cup whipped cream. Sprinkle sides and tops with grated chocolate.
  4. Spoon one tablespoon of the cherry pie filling mixture into center of each shell. Chill before serving.
