Pumpkin Cheesecake Pears with Brown Sugar Pecan Crumble

  • 6 pears, halved
  • 4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 cup Dixie Crystals Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Dixie Crystals Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour


  1. Slice pears in half. Using a melon baller, remove the core to create a cup and then scoop one additional ball from the flesh. (It should look like a mini snowman.) Cut a small piece of pear off (skin side down) so that pear sits flat when baking. Brush pears with butter.
  2. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over pears. Place pears skin side down in a shallow baking dish.
  3. Using a stand mixer beat cream cheese. pumkin puree and brown sugar for 1 minute. Then slowly add in egg, flour, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, salt and vanilla. Blend well. Using a mini cookie scoop, fill pears with cream cheese mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine dark brown sugar, pecans, butter and flour. Using a fork, mix until it has a crumble appearance. Sprinkle over each pear until all crumble mixture is used.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes until cheesecake is set, crumble is golden brown and pears are tender. Serve immediately.


Note from Dee: This is an absolutely delicious recipe & was a HUGE hit this year for Thanksgiving. Everyone loved the unique twist. These are so easy to make, yet they are an elegant, delicious new dessert. I hope you try these ~ you will LOVE them!
