5 Much Loved Southern Pecan Recipes
In honor of National Pecan Day on April 14, we want to share some of our favorite pecan recipes with you -- sure to make you swoon. Southerners have been known to have a love affair with the pecan -- and try to work them into as many dishes as possible. So whether the pecans in your life are plentiful and grown on trees in your own yard, or you buy enough at the store to keep a good supply in your freezer, here are some oh-so-sweet ways to use them.
One of our most versatile recipes just happens to be one of our easiest to make -- and did we mention you'll swoon? Caramel Pecan Syrup - It's ooey, it's gooey, smooth, rich, crunchy, sweet -- and to die for on pancakes, waffles, ice cream, in oatmeal, or even used as a meat marinade! Make an extra batch and give it to a neighbor in a pretty jar.
