Dr. Pepper Barbecued Beef Brisket

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dixie Crystals Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 cup Dr. Pepper Cherry Cola Soda
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 fresh beef brisket (4-5 pounds)

      Directions

      1. Preheat oven to 325°F.
      2. Trim fat from meat. Place brisket in a large roasting pan.
      3. Combine brown sugar, ketchup, Dr. Pepper, onion, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl; mix until well blended.
      4. Pour over brisket. Cover tightly with foil.
      5. Roast for 3 hours or until brisket is tender, brushing occasionally with sauce mixture.
      6. Remove from oven and place brisket on a platter and keep warm.
      7. Pour remaining sauce into a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes or until sauce reduces and thickens.
      8. Cut brisket into thin diagonal slices across the grain at an angle. Serve brisket with sauce.

      Have made multiple times. My nephew in law who grew up on brisket (says he had it every week) declares it the best brisket he has ever eaten. I do cook for significantly longer than the 3 hours until it’s basically falling apart.

      It sounds very delicious. I will have to try it. I think slow cooked in a crock pot would be good too. I'm not a fan of Dr. Pepper and hope I do not taste it.

      Ingredientes

      • 1 taza Dixie Crystals Azúcar Morena Clara
      • 1 taza kétchup
      • 1 taza Dr. Pepper Cherry Cola
      • 1 pequeña cebolla, finamente picada
      • 1/2 cucharadita sal
      • 1/4 cucharada pimienta negra molida
      • 1 pecho res fresco de 4-5 libras

      Direcciones

      1. Precaliente el horno a 325°F.
      2. Quite la grasa de la carne. Coloque la carne en una asadera grande.
      3. Combine el azúcar morena, el kétchup, el Dr Pepper, la cebolla, la sal y la pimienta en un tazón mediano, revolviendo hasta que todo quede bien mezclado.
      4. Vierta la mezcla sobre la carne. Cubra bien con papel de aluminio.
      5. Ase durante 3 horas o hasta que la carne esté tierna, aplicando de vez en cuando la mezcla de salsa con la brocha.
      6. Retire la carne colocándola en el plato y manténgala caliente.
      7. Vierta el resto de la salsa en una cacerola mediana. Haga hervir, reduzca el fuego y deje cocer a fuego lento durante 10-15 minutos o hasta que la salsa se reduzca y espese.
      8. Corte la carne en finas rodajas diagonales a través del grano, en un ángulo. Sirva la carne con la salsa.
