Gingerbread Apple Bars




  • *Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.


  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Spray 8X8-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray or line with parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, clove, and salt in a small bowl. 
  3. Cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar, molasses, vanilla extract, and egg with an electric mixer.
  4. Slowly mix dry ingredients in with butter mixture until combined. Stir in diced apples.
  5. Spread batter into prepared baking dish.
  6. For streusel, in a small bowl, use a fork to mix together flour, brown sugar, and butter until it makes a crumble.
  7. Spread crumble over gingerbread dough.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before cutting and serving.
