Ingredients
Chocolate Simple Syrup
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 cups Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Italian Chocolate Cream Soda
- 2 cups club soda
- 1/2 cup half and half
- 1/2 cup chocolate simple syrup
- Ice
- Whipped cream, optional
Directions
- For Chocolate Simple Syrup, place cocoa powder, sugar, water, and vanilla extract in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Stir to combine ingredients and let it heat until it just starts to bubble and sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.
- Remove saucepan from heat. Let mixture cool and then store in refrigerator until it chills.
- For soda, fill 4 glasses with ice. Pour 3 tablespoons of chocolate simple syrup into each glass.
- Pour 3 tablespoons of half and half in each glass and then top with club soda.
- Give drink a gentle stir. Optional, top with whipped cream and serve.
