Ingredients
Red Velvet Hot Chocolate
- 3 cups whole milk
- 1 cup half and half
- 1/3 cup Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- Red food coloring, about 2 teaspoons worth
Marshmallow Whipped Cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tablespoon Dixie Crystals Confectioners Powdered Sugar
- 1 cup marshmallow fluff
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
- Bring the milk, half and half and sugar to a simmer in a medium-sized sauce pot.
- Add semi-sweet chocolate chips and white chocolate chips and cook, stirring, until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and red food coloring (till you reach desired color) and mix until combined.
- Prepare Marshmallow Whipped Cream: In a large bowl with a hand mixer, beat heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar on high speed until soft peaks form.
- Add marshmallow cream/fluff and vanilla and continue whipping on high speed until peaks form, about 2 minutes.
- Pour hot chocolate into cups and top with large dollops of marshmallow whipped cream.
