Spaghetti and Meatballs with Homemade Sauce

  • Meatballs
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 slices bread soaked in milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 large eggs
  • Sauce
  • 2 small cans tomato sauce
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 4 teaspoons mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Dixie Crystals Light Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon red hot sauce
  • 4 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 4 cups water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • You will also need: mixing bowl, knife, cutting board, vegetable oil, frying pan, large saucepan, measuring cups and spoons and mixing spoons.

Directions

  1. Chop onion. Mix all ingredients together for meatballs in a mixing bowl and shape into balls. Place enough vegetable oil in pan to cover sides and allow to heat up before frying meatballs. Fry meatballs on low heat until brown on both sides.
  2. Mix all ingredients for sauce together in a large saucepan and bring to a boil. Then, add cooked meatballs.
  3. Let simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours stirring occasionally. Prepare spaghetti noodles by boiling noodles in water for about 10 minutes. Serve meatballs and sauce with noodles and french bread.

Espagueti y Albóndigas con Salsa Casera

Para las Albóndigas

  • 1 libra de carne de res molida
  • 1 cebolla mediana, picada
  • 2 rebanadas de pan remojadas en leche
  • 1/2 cucharadita de polvo de ajo
  • sal y pimienta al gusto
  • 2 huevos grandes

Para la Salsa

  • 2 latas pequeñas de salsa de tomate
  • 1 taza de salsa Ketchup
  • 1 cucharadita de polvo de chili
  • 1 cucharadita de polvo de ajo
  • 4 cucharaditas de mostaza
  • 1 cucharada de Dixie Crystals Azúcar Morena Clara
  • 1 cucharada de salsa picante
  • 4 cucharadas de salsa Worcestershire
  • 4 tazas de agua
  • Sal y Pimienta al gusto

  1. Mezcle todos los ingredientes para las albóndigas en un tazón y forme en bolitas. Fríelas en un sartén por ambos lados hasta que queden doradas.
  2. Mezcle todos los ingredientes para la salsa en la cacerola  grande y deje hervir. Añada las albóndigas.
  3. Cocine a fuego lento de 1-1/2 a 2 horas moviendo ocasionalmente. Prepare spaghetti hirviendo la pasta por 10 minutos. Sirva las albóndigas con salsa sobre los spaghetti y pan francés.
